SketchUp (hereinafter referred to as SU) plugin installation method
Classification of plugin files
Since Trimble (Trimble) acquired SU from Google (Google) in 2012, it also added a plug-in installation method for SU that is ready to use, and also generated a file with the extension rzb . The plugin extension is rb.
RZB plug-in installation method
In order to facilitate everyone's use, and take care of the current Boss by the way, first explain the installation method of the rbz plugin. rzb is a compressed file format similar to zip. After practice, the extension names can be interchanged between the two.
SU8 has two icons, one is a small house and a pen, and the other is a cube with a red ladder. The difference is as mentioned above. The former is Google SketchUp (hereinafter referred to as GS) and the latter is Trimble SketchUp (hereinafter referred to as GS). TS for short) rbz plug-in can be directly installed in TS8pro to the current highest version of TS2015pro. The installation method is to click Window---System Settings---Extensions---Install Extensions in TS, and find the rzb plug-in you want to install .
The concept of compiled libraries
SU's plug-ins are also divided into two types in terms of content, one is called a compiled library, and the other is a plug-in for various functions. Some plug-ins can be installed directly into SU, and some plug-ins can be installed only when the compiled library is installed. For example, the compiled library is similar to our common operating system, and the plug-in is the software running in this system. Just like if we want to use SU, we must have a computer with Windows or OS system installed . Commonly used compilation libraries are libfredo6 , ams_lib , tt_lib2 and so on . After installing these compiled libraries , you can install the corresponding plug-ins .
For example , the Ferdo 6_JonintPull (joint push and pull) plugin , which belongs to the libfredo6 compilation library . I only install the Ferdo 6_JonintPull plugin , and SU will prompt you to install the libfredo6 multi-language library . After installing the compiled library, Ferdo 6_JonintPull can run , and all the plugins that belong to libfredo6 can run . The installation method of the compiled library is the same as that of other plugins .
How to install R b plugin
The Rb plug-in, as a veteran of the SU plug-in, is also applicable to the current version of TS, but the installation method is slightly different.
In versions below SU2013 (including SU2013), there will be a Plugins folder in the SU installation directory, which is the folder where SU stores plugins. After opening you will see some files with rb as extension, and some folders. In fact, the sandbox of SU is in it, which is an official plugin. So if you find that your sandbox is missing, and you can't find it in the view-toolbar, then you can look in your Plugins folder, you may have deleted it by mistake.
At this point, everyone should be able to guess that the downloaded rb plug-in should be placed in the Plugins folder, and then restart your SU to use it.
Plugins have changed in SU2014 and SU2015.
The Plugins location for SU2014 is (WIN7 and WIN8):
C:\Users\ your username (Administrator) \AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins
The Plugins locations for SU2015 are:
C:\Users\ your username (Administrator) \AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015\SketchUp\Plugins
There are App Data folders in both paths , and this file is hidden by default in the system , so you need to show hidden files to see it . This change can keep the original plug-in after reinstalling SU, avoiding the tedious plug-in installation process. But at the same time, it will take up space on the C drive.
In the installation directory of SU2014 and SU2015, there is a Tools folder, which can also be used to place the rb plugin.
RZB plugin to RB plugin
According to the above description, there is a question, I want to install the rzb plug-in in GS, how to install it?
The above also mentioned that rzb is a zip-like compressed package file format , and also said that they can exchange extensions , then change the extension of the rzb plugin to zip (provided you want to display the extension), you can use the decompression software or explorer to open it. After opening it, you will find that it is composed of plugins and folders in rb format. Just follow the installation method of the rb plugin. Conversely, if you make changes to a decompressed rzb plugin (such as Chineseization), you compress it into a zip file, and then change it to the rbz extension. You can install it as the rbz plugin.
Installation of NewSuTool (hereinafter referred to as NST)
